Rehabilitation

Specialist service to help restore injured claimants, as far as possible, to their pre-accident position and, in appropriate circumstances, assist with their return to work.

When individuals are involved in accidents that result in injury, particularly the more serious cases, there is generally tremendous benefit for all parties concerned in the reintegration of the injured persons into their pre-accident lifestyles and occupations as soon as possible.

This can involve remedial physiotherapy for whiplash or strain injuries, or programmes of physical and psychological treatment and vocational reintegration, sometimes spanning several years or more.

Weightmans' Rehabilitation experts have lengthy experience of all the issues involved in such cases. We are committed not just to achieving the best results for our clients, but also to encouraging all parties concerned to engage in a   co-operative approach to resolving these matters. Our aim is to negotiate the most effective settlement possible, taking into account every relevant personal, financial and time factor.

We specialise in catastrophic injury cases, and our procedures include seeking agreement for an Initial Needs Assessment to allow treatment for the most severely injured claimants at the earliest opportunity.  We are fully conversant with all the funding issues and the obligations of Local Authorities and Primary Care Trusts, and ensure that all options are considered.

We work with insurers and claimants’ solicitors to identify the most suitable independent provider/s from our rigorously investigated Rehabilitation Panel. We also provide a member of the Civil Justice Council who also sits on the Rehabilitation Special Interest Group.
