The Equality Bill –How will it affect you?

The Equality bill has now been published.

It aims to

  • modernise discrimination legislation- including a new definition of disability discrimination, wider application of discrimination by association.
  • remove secrecy over pay in private sector employers in order to encourage greater transparency in pay structures and thus greater equality in pay.
  •  Permit a change in law to outlaw age discrimination in the provision oof goods facilities and services.
  • widen the Equality duties relevant to Public Authorities
  • increase obligations on private sector employers that do business with the public sector.

It is a significant piece of legislation that all organisations need to be aware of in advance of its implementation.

As a supplier to the CPC framework for employment legal services Weightmans would like to invite you to a seminar which will guide you through this new complex law and help you to identify areas where you may need to make changes now.
